Many can’t afford to eat well...

We believe that a balanced diet is an integral part of wellness. This is especially important among communities in need, many of whom can’t afford nutritious meals on a daily basis.

Our Chai Wan distribution network has grown to 272 people since October 2022, with 89% of them over the age of 65. Many of these individuals are living alone or with just one other person, and 76% of them are not optimistic about their financial future.

The impact of COVID-19 has also been felt, with 23% reporting that their financial situation has worsened. In fact, 30% of those surveyed reported a daily spend of less than $58 per person, which is the daily food expenditure for low-income families in Hong Kong.

Perhaps most concerning is the fact that 76% of those surveyed have had to opt out of fresh ingredients due to financial constraints. Only 8% of those surveyed rated the nutritional value of their meals as satisfactory. This is where our food charity comes in, providing nutritious meals to those in need, free of charge. We are proud to be able to make a difference in the lives of our community members, and we are committed to continuing this important work.

It's important to note that our food charity not only serves those who are struggling financially, but also the homeless and refugee communities who similarly face a shortage of nutritious meals. These vulnerable communities often have to overcome additional challenges such as a lack of storage and cooking facilities, making it even harder to access healthy food options.

We believe that everyone deserves access to nutritious meals, regardless of their circumstances. Our team of dedicated volunteers works tirelessly to ensure that we provide delicious, healthy meals to those who need them the most. We are committed to making a difference in the lives of our community members, and we are grateful for your continued support in our mission to fight food insecurity. Together, we can make a difference.
